The third edition of the Fire Expo 2018 to be held from the 24 to the 26 of October in Center Park will be the right exhibition to see the latest products and technologies related to fire protection.
Austral Chemicals Chile SA will introduce its product Silflame ®: an extinguishing and fire retardant agent (Class. A) made in Chile. It has been designed to cool down the fire in order to extinguish the fire more quickly, avoid reignition and reduce water consumption. It only needs to be diluted between 1.5 - 3% in water. It can also be applied with pre-mixer (Eductor) directly plugged on the water line, adjusting the output according to the suggested dilution. In addition, Silflame ® can act as a combustion retardant and protect the combustible surface before fire ignition, acting as a fire barrier. For this, the concentration must be increased or the product diluted> 5% in water.
The objective is to show the visitor that for the extinction of class A fires (wood, paper, cardboard, etc.) the efficiency of Silflame ® at the recommended dilution is over 50% superior in term of speed of extinction and amount of water used compared to water only. Silflame ® is certified by Cesmec for its extinction potential, and has also show absence of heavy metals and toxic vapors (The use of Silflame ® decreases the total particles material, fine and breathable by 40%, which implies less solids in suspension that could affect user’s health.
Furthermore, eco toxicity studies realized by the University of Concepción demonstrated that Silflame ® does not harm terrestrial and aquatic animals or plants. Being free of phosphates, it is an ecological alternative to the extinguishing and retarding agents existing in the national and international market.
